Star Rating Information: Follow the Stars to Quality Accommodation
Properties voluntarily participate in the Canada Select Rating program. Overall cleanliness and state of repair is a fundamental requirement of the rating program. Properties are grouped into 5 categories based upon shared characteristics such as general location, facilities, services and market appeal- rating criteria is different within each category. Properties are then rated based on the extent of physical facilities and services, amenities and the quality offered.
Rating Categories & Definitions - H/M - HOTELS/ MOTELS: Hotels, Suites, Motels, Motor Hotels
- R - RESORTS: Resort Hotels, Condo Hotels, Lodges, Spas, Ranches, Housekeeping
- C - COTTAGES: Cottages, Cabins, Houses, Housekeeping, Cottage/ Condo-style units
- I - COUNTRY INNS
- BB - Bed and Breakfasts: Bed and Breakfasts, Farm Vacations
- F/H - FISHING/ HUNTING PROPERTIES: Lodges, Camps, Outposts

- Very comfortable accommodation with a greater range of amenities and services.
- A high standard of accommodation with an extensive range of services and guest amenities.
- Exceptional properties which are among the very best in the country in terms of their outstanding facilities, guest service and quality.
